Scientific Commitees – Technical Councils

1. Member of the Special Scientific Tender Evaluation Committee for the project: “Study – Construction, Self-financing and Utilisation of the Permanent Bridging Project of Rion – Antirrion”.
Object of the project was the permanent bridging of the sea channel between Rion and Antirrion. The suggested solution included technical spanning with total length of 2.920m., consisting of the main cabled stayed bridge (the longest theretofore in the world) of total length of 2.290m. consisting of 5 spans of 305.0+560.0+560.0+560.0+305.0m. and having 15 spans (9×42=378m and 6×42=252m) as approach brigdes. The total height of each of the four piers of the cabled bridge from their foundation till the top of the cables hanging up pylon is about 230m. The pier foundation at the seabed is achieved with a circular foundation of 90 m. diameter, which was the biggest ever built in a bridge.

3. Steady Member of the Technical Council of University of Peloponissos for the years 2007-2011.

4. Chairman of the Technical Council of NTUA for the years 2016-today.

5. Member of the Project Section of the Council of Public Works of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, for the Bridge Projects, for the years 2018-today.

6. Coordinator of the Work Group 5 “Bridge Maintenance / Inspection” of the Hellenic Construction Industry Council (HCIC) from the year 2020-today.

7. Member of the Mutual Following Committee of the project entitled “Restoration of the Keritis River Bridge at Alikianos Housing Estate, Chania, Greece (Studies, Investigation, Construction)”, Budget 8.000.000€.
