Practical Training in the context of the Training Programm of the K.E.DI.BI.M. N.T.U.A. "Inspection and Structural Evaluation of Bridges and Technical Projects" - Visit to the Rio - Antirrio Bridge.

In the context of the practical training (application of theoretical knowledge in road bridges) of the Training Program of K.E.DI.BI.M. N.T.P. “Inspection and Structural Evaluation of Bridges and Technical Projects” with Scientific Supervisor Mr. E. Sapountzakis, Professor of N.T.U.A., a visit of the trainees to the Rio – Antirrio Bridge took place on 23/10/2022.

More specifically, a technical presentation was held in the bridge’s Operations building which included:

  • Update on the Design / Construction of the Rio – Antirrio Link Project
  • Update on Structural Management (Types of monitoring and analyses, routine maintenance of concrete/metal structures and equipment, examples of heavy maintenance, special incident management with examples)

Technical visit to Pillar M4 where the most important structural equipment of the bridge was presented (cables damping system, cable-stayed bridge and access bridge joints, deck, transverse deck support and damping system, Structural Monitoring System – SHMS).

Presentation and update on the prototype of the Rio – Antirrio Link project

More specifically, a technical presentation was held in the bridge’s Operations building which included:
