In the context of the practical training (application of theoretical knowledge in road bridges) of the Training Programme of the K.E.DI.BI.M. N.T.U.A. “Inspection and Structural Evaluation of Bridges and Technical Projects” with Scientific Officer Mr. E. Sapountzakis, Professor of N.T.U.A, a visit of the trainees to a bridge of Kato Diabase in the area of Methoni, Pieria and to the Road Bridges of Aliakmonas River, took place on 16/10/2022.

Briefing on the South Branch of the Aliakmonas River Bridge

More specifically, an inspection and recording of wear/damage was carried out on a bridge of Kato Diabase (in the area of Methoni, Pieria), while in the Road Bridges of the Aliakmonas River, a tour of the bridges of the North (towards Thessaloniki) & South (towards Athens) branch, presentation of reconstruction works of the North sector and reference to evaluations and tests that have been carried out in the past on the South sector.

Kalogirou for the excellent organization of the visit (traffic regulations in the inspection area, provision of personal protective equipment for all attendees and provision of a file and bridge drawings).
